RE: DIY Turtle Basking area.
Ok I already thought of a modification I am going to do. When I get a full piece of perspex for the front I am going to put angled timber molding on each side to hold it in instead of screwing it in. This will mean that I can slide up the front piece and take it out, for me it would seem like the tank would be easier to clean that way and it sounds kind of cool.
I am going to the pet store tomorrow (lots of new things to show you then Big Grin ) so will get a background to go over the inside timber I think, I may just leave it Confused
I put a line of food up the ramp to get him to figure out how to get up there, sh far he has just gotten up about 1/3 of the ramp lol.
Oh I was thinking of getting that stick-on tinted window stuff to block the light out of the land area as it is annoying me on the computer. That way I can see in but it should block the light coming out, if I put it on backwards. I am not sure I might not bother.

Well today I saw him showing an interest in it for the first time, he keeps sitting on the ramp with his head out of the water, I wonder how long it will take before he ventures up onto it!

Well I have a background on it now which makes it look better but have still not gotten glass for the front but I am in no real hurry to do that.
Anyway today he finally started using it, well at least for the first time with me in the room. I looked in the tank and couldn't find him and just as I started to panic I saw him basking at the top of the ramp, not quite on the tile yet but then he jumped off when I was watching him. At least he knows what it is for now!
