RE: How's that Axolotyl there Mark?
there is a video of them in this thread actually along with my fish and Franklin: http://www.fishstuff.info/forum/showthre...15#pid2215
I forgot all about the snake when I made that so I may make one of him, maybe later on today. So far they are still doing well, I am not sure what sex Bud is yet and he is still way smaller than Bob and doesn't seem like he is going to get any bigger. I have guppies in with them now since yesterday and they do not seem bothered with them at all, they swim past their head and they don't even try to catch them!
I was going to do a little bit of redecorating of their aquarium when the plant with the long leaves died last week but I noticed yesterday that it has new shoots coming out of the sand now so I can leave it as it is.

RE: How's that Axolotyl there Mark?
I wanted one for about 6 months and had read a lot on them but had never ever seen them. Then one day me and a mate from college went to the pet shop and there they were, all leucistic and I had to get one and then the tank my girlfriend was getting me for a turtle ended up for them. Then a couple of months later they got in wild types and I had to get Bud. Now they do not stock them any more, I was lucky to get them when I did. They are the reason why it took so long to get Franklin as they robbed his tank! Then again I did get Franklin one day at a show and I was not even thinking of getting a turtle at that time.
Right now I want to get a cichlid tank and Chinese Fire Belly newts but I definitely do not have the room at the moment.

Perhaps when Franklin outgrows his current tank I will get one or the other in there!

If you want an aquatic Salamander that does not require a lot of space then the CFB is a good candidate James. My two axies are in a 20 gallon but if Bob and Bud grow to the 1ft that they can then that will be way too small, right now it is just about adequate and if Bud just gets to about the size Bob seems to be staying at it will all be fine!
