Curious with all the gups....what do you do with them? I know they multiply like rabbits and that can get to be a big handfull at times.

RE: Guppy babies!
Well usually I keep a few as the females only last a few months before they get exhausted and die. I then have two uncles of mine that get them off me when I have too many and this time around I plan to keep some with my axies and hope they breed in there and kind of make it more natural so that I can observe the axies hunting and hopefully there will be a continuous supply, although it would not be a stable diet and I would still have to feed the axies other foods.

They are all pretty much the same as far as I know but I have never had any luck with mollies, platies or swords but my guppies always bred.

RE: Guppy babies!
I just counted an I have between 32 and 40 babies. Hope fully I will have more females than males and can divide them into breeding groups. One group with the axolotls (Chances are they wont last long enough to breed but hopefully they will), One group with Franklin to make his tank look prettier (more hopeful of them getting a chance to breed in here rather than with the axolotls but then again Franklin might pick them off quicker than I anticipate) and then whatever I have left after that will go into my community tank unless I have too many males in which case I will give them to my uncle.
Sounds like a plan to me!
In the last week to two weeks all three guppy females gave birth. I did not see any free-swimming fry so they were eaten pretty quickly (I always save them if I see them swimming in the tank).

RE: Guppy babies!
Hi jacky!

I guess I should update this a little. Right now all or at least most of the guppies that were put in with Franklin are still there but only two have survived so far in the axolotl tank and they seem to be doing fine in there for the last month or so, I have no idea why they ate the others and not those two! I presume the guppies in the community tank are still breeding but I have not been trying to keep any of the fry as of late.
