Thermometers
I got a digital thermometer for my aquarium about a month ago, Just to get a more accurate reading of my temperature. This is the one I got.

It has now stopped working and and I am unsure why. It could be the battery but I think that maybe the seal is not good enough on this thermometer and it got moisture damage.
I will post weather it was the thermometer or just the battery when I get a new battery, until then I would recommend not buying one as It may be that they do not seal tight enough.

RE: Thermometers
I have the digital types on my tanks but they have the probe that stays in the tank and the actual readout part is outside the water with a long wire like thing between the two parts. I like them quite well. But the battery is shot after about a year and easily replaced if you can find the button battery type for them.

RE: Thermometers
You will have batteries for a long time anyway but I do hope that they work for you. Let us know how it turns out.

RE: Thermometers
Well it turns out it was just the battery! I won't be running out of them for a while now!

Since it is only the battery I think this is a pretty good thermometer but the ones with just a probe and the display outside the tank are probably handieer although I have never used one.

RE: Thermometers
The batteries on them run down every 5 or 6 months but are easy to replace when you find them.

RE: Thermometers
Mine lasted about 1-2 months, maybe it was a really cheap one as it came with the thermometer.

RE: Thermometers
Well the batteries are gone again, it's a good thing that I got 100 of them. So they only last for 45 days lol so I have enough batteries for 4500 days, 12.32 years!!! Somehow I doubt the thermometer will last that long and hopefully I will have alot more tanks by then as well!
